Soil and Nutrition for Tree Health
Many tree health problems that appear to be disease or pest issues are actually rooted in poor soil conditions. Compacted soil, pH imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, and poor drainage all stress trees and make them more susceptible to secondary infections and insect attacks. Our arborists assess soil conditions as part of every comprehensive tree health evaluation in Alma, MI.
When soil or nutrient issues are identified, we develop a targeted correction plan that may include deep-root fertilization with the appropriate macro and micronutrients, soil aeration to improve oxygen and water penetration, amendment of pH where needed, and drainage solutions to prevent waterlogging or drought stress that weakens trees over time.
